We are thrilled to announce that Sophie’s outstanding Maths story, ‘Friendship Geometry,’ has been shortlisted for the Young Mathematical Story Authors Competition 2024!

This is a  remarkable achievement considering that her story stood out among 650 entries from 67 schools that entered this year. Huge congratulations to Sophie on this incredible success! Her photograph is proudly featured on the competition website.

”The inspiration for my story was based on moving to a new school and changing to a new environment. Some of the other inspiration for my story was thinking about equality and how everyone should be treated with the same respect. I personally really enjoyed making my maths story even though it took a long time to finish. This process did help me revise shapes and all their meanings!”

This is the first time that The Study has entered the YMSA competition and we are so proud of Sophie for this wonderful achievement.
