Year 5 went on an Art and History trip to the Wallace Collection and were privileged to explore the historic rooms which exhibit the museum’s world-renowned range of fine and decorative arts from the 15th to the 19th centuries. They enjoyed various activities including being shown some extraordinary artefacts, looking at and trying on suits of armour and chainmail, as well as viewing the famous portraits whilst having the chance to dress up and pose like the subjects – as well as selecting a favourite painting or two to sketch. The trip was a fascinating mixture of observation, creativity, interaction and fact finding and all the girls had a wonderful time.
