Year 3 girls had a wonderful outing recently when they went to The Natural History Museum as part of their topic on earth and soils. They were spellbound by the Earth Galleries and the Earth Treasury and fascinated by the samples of earth, soils, minerals and crystals on display. They had the opportunity to get hands-on experience and looked at samples under microscopes to make their own scientific observations. It was extremely interesting to learn about all sorts of geological phenomena including volcanoes and earthquakes. The girls then came back to school to work on their own geological projects inspired by all that they saw, which they then shared with their peers.
