Trusting in Values

Looking back at October's Value of the Month

Our Value for the Month of October was ‘Trust’.  In assemblies and lessons, the girls covered many aspects of trust including: who we can trust; how we earn people’s trust; how we can lose people’s trust through our behaviour; and the importance of remembering that ‘Trust’ is not something that we should give away freely to anyone.  Spencer House had a visit from PC Mann who got the girls thinking about who we can trust and turn to when we are out and about.  Also on the theme of ‘Trust’, Mr Gilbert spoke to all the girls in lessons, and in an assembly at Spencer, about the importance of staying safe on the Internet.

At Spencer House, a wall has been dedicated to building our own ‘House of Trust’:   paper copies of bricks bearing testimonies of actions, thoughts and questions relating to our understanding and practising of this value have gradually been assembled.

At Wilberforce House, we have built the word ‘Trust’ with similar bricks, bearing photographs of the girls developing trust in each other during their daily activities.

As always The Study girls have embraced this new value, led this month by teachers Mr Gilbert, Mrs Johnson and Dr Sarkany, and learnt a lot in the process.  We knew we could trust them!  We look forward to embracing November’s Value of Kindness.
