Children's Mental Health Week

It's Children's Mental Health Week and with the amount of time we are all spending on screens during lockdown, it has never been more important to take a break and find things to do that make us feel good.

Our teachers have been encouraging our girls to embrace this year's theme to 'Express Yourself'. It has been wonderful to see some of the pictures of what the girls have been getting up-to, from baking to writing letters and even creating sculptures of our solar system!

We've also been exploring a more surprising activity that benefits emotional wellbeing – being bored.

Jules Oakshett, our Mental Health & Wellbeing Lead from EQ Prep, talked all about the benefits of being bored in our Friday morning assembly. Take a look at our video to find out more.

Jules offers a unique wellbeing provision for our girls, parents, and teachers.  This includes drop-in sessions for girls during break times, bespoke coaching sessions for parents with any mental health concerns, and peer mentor training for Year 6 girls

There are lots of other resources available for families to get involved with Children's Mental Health Week on Place 2 Be's website: https://www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/
