The Study has long been recognised as a genuinely creative school, holding nationally recognised awards such as the prestigious Artsmark Gold; having a demonstrably creative ethos; as well as a huge success rate for 11+ scholarships across all creative disciplines to prove it!
Yet again, The Study has proved its worth in visual arts with the latest round of 1st Place awards at the Independent Schools Association annual Regional Art Competition.
No less than 100 Study girls had their work entered into the ISA Regional competition this year, and in true Study style, our talented girls swept the board in terms of accolades!
Listed below are the 1st Place award winners:
1st Place KS2 3D Group – Terracotta Army – All of last year’s Year 6M
1st Place KS1 3D Group – Year 1 Terracotta warriors- Sophie Chase, Amelie Griggs, Maddie Campbell-White, Matilda Reiniger, Chloe Holohan, Imogen Lovatt, Zara Petrovic, Farrah Wager
1st Place KS2 3D (individual) – Natalie Howatson-Tout with her wire and papier mache sculpture, “Boris the Budgie” which also wowed the judges at the Mayor’s Fourth Plinth Schools’ Competition
1St Place KS1 3D (individual) – Nell King with her wonderful clay mask
1St Place KS2 Textiles (individual) – Indigo Pennell with her fabric piece, “Peacocks”
1st Place KS1 Textiles group – Thalia Fruchard & Juliette Streeter
1st Place KS2 Design – Tsukiha Hamasu and Ava Hurwitz with their Picasso collages and T-shirts created in the Year 3 Picasso Day 2014 workshop
1st Place KS2 Photography – this goes to talented photographer, Sophie Young, with her four fantastic images entitled “ Fresh Four”
All first place winners will now go on to the National Final Competition in November and we wish them all the very best of luck. Well done Study artists!
