Old girls Gauri and her sister Anvi left The Study due to relocation and started at the Tanglin Trust School, Singapore this August. Gauri, who left The Study at the end of Year 6 in 2014, participated in an international creative writing competition called “The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2016”, conducted by The Royal Commonwealth Society. School children from all Commonwealth countries participate in it and it is considered to be a very prestigious writing competition. Gauri was announced the winner of the junior category and will be receiving her award at Buckingham Palace this October. She is the first Singaporean to win the award!
Her essay has been featured in National dailies and various other online forums. When discussing some of her inspirations, Gauri fondly mentioned her time at The Study with Mrs Pepper, Mrs Cannell, Miss Gay, Mrs Bower and Ms Magee. Mrs Gupta, Gauri’s mother said “We will forever be grateful to all of you at The Study for inspiring our daughters and extending their potential.”
