The annual Summer Concert at Spencer House celebrates all that is wonderful about the music at The Study. The fantastic array of choirs, instrumentalists, groups, ensembles, soloists and the orchestra are brought together to showcase the diverse offer and many opportunities the girls enjoy to explore their musicality. The audience enjoyed a medley of musical numbers including the classic “Somewhere over the Rainbow” sung by the Chamber Choir; the humorous “Ali Baba” performed by the Spencer House Choir; fantastic violin duets; guitar medleys; a wonderful rendition of “Summer Time” from the Jazz Club; a sisterly duet on clarinet and double bass; and accomplished solo performances on the harp, grand piano, clarinet and saxophone. Very well done to the superb narrators, all our talented musicians and singers for their hard work and practise this year, all the instrumental teachers, and to Mrs Brown, Head of Music, for orchestrating yet another memorable evening of magical music. Proceeds from the collection at the end of the evening will be going to this term’s chosen charities Book Aid and Molly’s Fund, many thanks for your generosity.
Mrs Brown, Director of Music
