On Saturday 23rd January the Year 6A team travelled to Danes Hill School to participate in a Netball Tournament with a total of 12 schools competing.
The first game they played was against Halstead, and once the girls had settled into play, Katarina and Theresa began scoring some brilliant goals. The first game ended with The Study winning 6-3. The second match was against St Georges, the girls demonstrated some excellent defending skills by only allowing one goal in from the opposition. Our attacking players moved quickly down the court, getting the ball to our shooters resulting in a 7-1 win. The team also won their third game against Holy Cross. The final group stage match was against Hall Grove who made some fantastic interceptions making it difficult for us to get the ball into our shooting circle. We ended up losing 6-4.
The Study Girls won 3 out of 4 matches resulting in them getting through to the semi-finals where they faced Caterham. The girls showed great determination and excellent skills ending the match with a very convincing win.
They were now through to the final against Guildford High School. They knew this was going to be a tough match but the girls continued to play extremely well with Linnea and Amolikaa making vital interceptions in the goal third. The game was very close with both teams demonstrating excellent netball skills. The final score ended Guildford High 6, The Study 4. A very close game but the girls thoroughly deserved their Silver medal.
