Our formidable Year 6A Netball team pulled out all the stops as they represented The Study at the IAPS Regional netball Tournament held in Brighton on 3 March. They were up against 64 top teams and they brought all their training, determination and skills to the fore to reach the final hurdle, coming second against Guildford High School, and therefore qualifiying for the prestigious IAPS Finals which will be held on March 12 at Roedean. Well done Team!
Here is and excerpt from what Katarina Oestmann wrote about the exciting day:
Our first match was against PGS, and it was very close, we kept going and in the end we won 5-3. Our next match was against Burgess Hill, we were amazed to win 16-0. Our third match was against Rose Hill and we won 10-0, we were having a lucky streak, would it last? As we won the following four matches in a row, our lucky streak continued, and after beating St Catherine’s 8-1 we knew we were through to the Nationals! We won all our group matches, scoring 66 goals with only 4 goals scored against us! There was then a mini tournamnt which would determine our position at the Nationals, and the last match of this round and of the day was against Guildford High School. They played really well and beat us 6-1. This meant we came 2nd and we were so happy to achieve 2nd place against 64 schools! We are now going to the Nationals on the 12 March!
