Wilberforce House hall was transformed into a medieval banqueting hall this week when Year 1 girls staged a special event as a finale to their creative topic in class. Dressed in princess finery, knight costumes, jester suits as well as a few dress up dragons, Year 1 girls took their places for a royal feast. The table was richly decorated with velvet, candles, bowls of fruit, ice swan sculptures and a splendid ‘sword in the stone’ cake. Parents were entertained by courtly dancers, laughed at jokes, and enjoyed the feast which was a most enjoyable and scrumptious affair. A certain knight (or was it a King?), managed to extract Excalibur from the stone, and a very fetching Maid Marian was sighted coming in and out of the banquet from the direction of Mrs Pepper’s office. Thank you to all the staff involved, and the parents who contributed to the feast, and a special thanks to Ella C’s mummy who made a beautiful cake and the very impressive ice sculptures that adorned the table!
