The Girls’ Charitable Work during Lockdown

Instead of supporting one charity this term, girls are doing their own thing and we are so proud to see how the kind and generous ethos of The Study is being translated into the many initiatives of our girls.  The messages of kindness, treating others with respect and patience, and doing what you can to help others, were key in one of Miss Gay’s recent assemblies, and has long been a recurring theme in our Values-based education.  Just a few examples of what our girls have been up to show just how much these messages have inspired our girls:

Willow’s dad was asked to help out at the AFC Wimbledon Dons local action group food bank recently and she helped bring food to those in need.

Allegra was moved by cancer patients who have to wear wigs and she decided to let her hair grow even longer to be able to donate 35/40 cm to a cancer patient. She will cut her hair and preserve it in a sealed box waiting the end of the lockdown so that she can provide a wig for someone in need, thanks to littleprincesses.org.uk. What a wonderful gesture!

Girls have also been keeping fit and raising money for charity at the same time.  Annabel and Jemima have run 5kms for the NHS and good causes. Well done girls!

Arabelle has been showing support to a poorly neighbour by taking their dog Harry out for a walk each day.  A lovely act of kindness!

This week’s Year 6 newspaper editorial team has decided to raise money for London Zoo which has been forced to close due to covid-19.  These funds will go towards feeding and taking care of all the animals.  Read more about it in this week’s newspaper, out soon.
