The Spencer House annual productions at The Study have always delighted and entertained the audience, and this year’s show is certainly no exception. The classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, The Sound of Music, has been brought to life by the astounding talents of our Year 5 and Year 6 girls, aided by the flawless direction and technical skills of the staff. This ambitious production, which sees mountains, orchestras, a film segment, great sets and professional sound and lighting, has certainly set the standard for future productions! Singing nuns, a puppet performance, cheeky children, sinister soldiers and a varied ensemble cast all added to the spectacle of the show. The entire cast has worked extremely hard over the last few months, learning their lines, memorising the music, and honing their performance skills – hard work which has paid off with a spellbinding performance from them all. The acting was astounding, the singing superb, and a special mention must go out to the solo vocalists who sang so beautifully and confidently throughout the production. The show was truly memorable, and thanks to the wonderful work of the cast and crew, our “hearts have been blessed with the sound of music.”
Well done to all the girls in the show, and to the following members of staff and crew who pulled the production together so well:
Claire Kirkby, Amy Jo Brown, Vilma Zarkovic, Kerry Peart, Jem Kitchen, Andy Muirhead, John Jones, Jessica Burrell and Amanda Brightwell.
Here are a just few photos from the production, but if you click onto the Sound of Music Photo Gallery at the bottom on the Home Page, you will see many more. Prints are available to purchase through our school photographer. Details from Spencer House Office.
