Last week, Spencer House girls enjoyed an assembly to celebrate EUROPEAN LANGUAGES DAY, which is marked in many schools across Europe. During their French and Spanish lessons, the girls took part in various language activities, including one which they very much enjoyed on Sign Language, which reinforced an assembly an outside guest took last year. They learned how to mime the names of various European countries in BSL and loved it! Native speakers also taught a few words of the language they speak at home to their classmates and the girls were invited to bring a souvenir into school from a European country they had visited. The result was such that each lesson started with a very interesting Show and Tell session!
The girls also took part in a charity fundraising competition: entering the names of all European countries on a map, £1 to enter – to be paid to our charities. Winners pictured below, well done girls!
