The record hot weather on Monday did nothing to deter our talented athletes as they travelled up to Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium for the ISA National Athletics meet. The girls competing did exceptionally well in the hot and humid conditions and did themselves and The Study proud:
Mabel-Rose came away with 3 Gold medals is now the new record holder and National champion in the 150m event, running it in 21.98 seconds beating the previous record also set by Study girl Amelia Cheeseman, so she ensured The Study still holds the record. Mable-Rose also performed splendidly in the long jump and is National champion, jumping 4 metres. The Study team won Gold in the relay as well so a great day for all.
Cecily M came 3rd in the 600m and the determination and resilience (our current Value of the month) prize must go to Georgina C who had a tumble during her race, yet still came 5th showing great resilience by forging ahead. Sophie B did well in 75m sprint which was a challenging race but finished 4th which was great.
Well done girls!!
