On Monday 4 February the Year 6A team took part in the London West Regional Netball Tournament. This is always a great tournament with a variety of schools fighting for a place in the Nationals.
The first two games started off quite slowly but the girls played great defence and made it difficult for the other teams to score, so the team won both games 6-2 and 8-2. The girls had started to settle into the new environment and demonstrated some excellent netball, showing off their set plays and brilliant team work. The amazing results below show their excellent play in the rest of the group stage matches:
Alton School- 13-0
Claire’s Court 2 – 15-0
Broomfield House- 20-0
With all these wins, the team was through to the semi-finals. The girls were up against Claire’s Court, and they played some lovely calm netball, intercepting many passes and scoring some great goals. The final score was 10-0 to The Study, the team was through to the final. The final game was against Sherborne, and the girls knew this would be a tough game as they had watched them play well throughout the day. It was a close game but The Study team stayed focussed, resulting in a 5-3 win and qualifying for the Nationals on the 16th March in York. Well done to all the girls, we are very proud of you!
