Despite a few Brazilian style tropical downpours, girls from every year group at The Study came together in the Wilberforce House playground to celebrate the 123rd Birthday of the school in style! The theme this year was Brazilian Carnival, to tie in with the forthcoming Olympics in Rio. Girls came dressed up in their most colourful clothes, with flowers, masks and headdresses to add to the festivities! We welcomed guests from The Norwegian School who joined their friends at The Study to celebrate. Music was provided by a fantastic steel band, and the girls tucked into a delicious Brazilian style barbeque before enjoying some ice-creams from the ice cream van. The school song was sung in rousing style by all the girls, before the traditional cutting of the special cake took place, when Mrs Pepper was ably assisted by the youngest and oldest girls at The Study – Jessica H in Reception Blue and Juliette F in 6M respectively. Our thanks go out to Mrs Lee for organising the day, to Mrs Gonzales for her splendid cake, and also to The Study Association, who provided some wonderful games, balloons, masks and activities for the girls as well as coming along to support the school and join in the fun!
