A Week of Literature and Learning

In the lead up to the half term break, the Wilberforce House girls experienced a wonderful off timetable week, with a focus on books and literature.  Every day saw the girls enjoy something new, from book fairs, author visits, cake sales, illustration and theatre workshops, to a fantastic finale on the last day before half term break, where girls came to school dressed as their favourite book character.  The Study welcomed author and illustrator Mark Roberston who did a fantastic workshop on dragons, while Mrs Brocklebank told the Reception girls all about her work as an illustrator.  Splats Theatre Group did a workshop with an artistic theme and the girls enjoyed making hats inspired by Renoir’s Umbrellas painting.  The Wilbeforce House girls also went over to Spencer House for a special treat, to see the wonderful Far and Wide Puppet Theatre performance put on by the girls in Years 4-6.  See website news for this story.  Below are a selection of photographs of the girls enjoying all the activities during Book Week.
