Spencer House was enlivened with touches of pink today, in preparation for an exciting fundraising event for one of our Summer Term charities, Molly’s Fund. Molly’s Fund was set up to support children with brain tumours, and its work is now part of the National Brain Appeal. Please go to the website for further information on the wonderful work of the charity – www.mollysfund.org.uk.
Year 6 girls Jasmin K, Alissia B, Maya L and Maddie B arranged for a spectacular pink balloon release from the playground, along with a cupcake sale to raise money for this worthwhile cause. The girls read out letters sent to the school from the charity as well as a message from Molly’s parents. The pink balloons were then released in a spectacular display, and floated above Spencer House before disappearing into the morning sky. Year 4 – 6 then had the opportunity of buying delicious cupcakes to enjoy. The event raised £468.08 for the charity, a very generous amount. It was a lovely and moving tribute to Molly’s memory, so very well done to the girls and their parents who arranged the morning.
