Our Year 5A team have had an amazing run of success over the last week with great performances at three different Netball Tournaments, bringing home two Golds and one Silver for The Study.
And in latest news, on Thursday 20th November, the Year 5A and B teams played against Sutton High at Beverley Meads, the A’s won 12-4 and the B’s won 1-0! Another fantastic result girls! Well done!
Thursday 13th November – The Year 5A team competed in the Small Schools Tournament at WHS, they played extremely well and were unbeaten all day resulting in winning a Gold medal!
Friday 14th November – The girls competed in the Guildford High Netball Tournament, this was a tough tournament but the girls came out fighting, the girls showed real determination and played fantastic netball. In one of the matches we were 3-0 down but the girls stayed focused and came back to beat Hawthorns 4-3. The girls got through to the final against Guildford High, and they made some excellent interceptions but unfortunately lost 4-2. The girls came away with a well-deserved Silver medal.
Saturday 15th November – The girls travelled to Thomas’s Clapham, again this was to be a tough tournament and they were in a very competitive section. The girls lost the first game against the Harrodian, however this made them even more determined to go out and play their best netball. The girls’ demonstrated excellent set plays, their attacking and defensive skills were excellent and they had amazing team spirit throughout the tournament. The girls went on to win the rest of their games which resulted in them getting to the final against the Harrodian. This match was very exciting, at the end of full time the score was 3-3 which meant it went into extra time, at the end of which the score was still level. The game then went on to additional extra time, again the score was a draw which meant the match would be decided on a golden goal. The parents and teachers were holding their breath as the ball went straight to GS Theresa and the spectators were silenced as she scored the magic goal! Everyone erupted in delight as The Study won another tournament! Well done girls!!

Year 4– The Year 4 girls attended the Small Schools Tournament at the Harrodian on Monday; they played 8 matches and played some excellent netball. The girls won 4 games, drew 2 and lost 2. A fantastic team effort!
Year 6– Also participated in the Small Schools Tournament at the Harrodian this week, the girls played extremely well and came home with a well-deserved Silver medal. Well done!
