We pay tribute to Mrs Susan Pepper, who is retiring from her post as Headmistress after almost ten exemplary years leading the school. Mrs Pepper joined The Study in January 2011 from Francis Holland Sloane Square, where she had been Deputy Headmistress for eleven years.
During her tenure at The Study, Mrs Pepper enhanced the School in so many ways, from the provision of cooked lunches, a new sports ground, and improvement to the facilities on both sites, to spearheading the ambitious Wilberforce House development, which should see completion by the end of 2020. Under Mrs Pepper’s headship, the School achieved excellent ISI Inspection reports, and the Year 6 11+ results have been impressive, with record breaking numbers of offers and scholarships given to our Year 6 cohorts through the years. 2020 has been a record year, with 40 scholarship offers, bringing the total for the last three years to 104.
But, it is not only the facilities, curriculum and academic reputation of the School that Mrs Pepper has worked so hard to enhance, it is her kindness, warmth, sincere care for the wellbeing of her staff and all the girls that will be remembered by parents, girls and the whole Study community. We will all miss her intelligence, sense of fair play, tenacity, as well as her ready smile and sense of humour. We all wish Mrs Pepper the very best in her retirement, and thank her for her dedication, hard work and inspirational leadership.
