Year 2 girls have been learning all about the festival of Diwali, which means rows of lighted lamps. They have learnt that is a festival of lights and a celebration of joy. During this festival, people light up their houses and shops. They worship Lord Ganesha for good welfare and prosperity and Goddess Lakshmi for wealth and wisdom. They made and decorated some lovely candle holders in class, and enjoyed seeing their candles lit by the teachers today!
