On Sunday 28th April, teams of Study girls from Years 3, 4 and 5 took part in the Flight Centre Schools' Triathlon at Royal Russell School. As part of a group of 40 schools, the young people took part in the event, each fundraising their own sponsorship – and together to date all the schools have raised a staggering £77,152.51.
A huge congratulations to all the Study girls who took part. The girls formed teams of four, with such exotic names as The Ninja Pups, The Speedstars, The Leaping Lions and the Crazy Crocodiles, and competed in swimming, running and cycling events with fantastic enthusiasm. The girls encouraged each other as they swam, cycled and ran, and greeted each other with congratulatory hugs as they each completed a challenge. Afterwards, Iona from team Ninja Pups, whose first triathlon it was said, “I loved it! It was hard work but I’d love to do it again! And I’m so pleased to have raised money for Restless Development. Thank you to all those who have sponsored us!”
We are incredibly proud of all the girls for their amazing team spirit and for raising so much money for Restless Development (www.restlessdevelopment.org), an international development charity that works with young people around the world to solve the challenges we face globally.
