The Year 6A team went to Epsom College to take part in the Netball Nationals, knowing it would be a challenging day but raring to go! The girls had 7 matches to play in their group with only the top two going through to the next round. Results below:
The Study VS Lambrook 8-3
The Study vs Warwick 7-4
The Study vs Marist 8-5
The Study vs Holmewood 8-6
The Study vs Solihull 4-8
The Study vs St Georges 11-4
The Study vs Chesham 12-3
It was an amazing achievement to lose only one match in the group stage. This meant the team finished top of its group and were through to the Quarter Finals of a National Competition. The girls were up against Farleigh, and played extremely well resulting in winning with an incredible score of 11-3.
They were through to the Semi-Finals and had to play Copthorne who they had played in the Regionals. It was an exciting game and a very close match which we lost 6-8. The girls were disappointed that they had to play a 3rd/4th match in order to go home with a possible medal. We were playing the team at Bishopsgate and the girls started the match really well with excellent interceptions and scoring great goals. They were extremely tired in the second half, but they dug deep and won the game 9-8, meaning they were going home with a Bronze medal and 3rd in the country out of an overall total of 229 teams! We are all so proud of the girls for their determination, resilience and excellent teamwork. What a fantastic achievement!
