The Year 5 girls enjoyed fantastic visits to both the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey as part of Enrichment Week. The girls were lucky to have excellent guides at both landmarks who were extremely informative and totally engaged them with stories from our country’s political history and about kings and queens who were married and buried at Westminster Abbey.
The girls enjoyed lunch in Victoria Tower Gardens, the small green space in the heart of Westminster which has numerous memorials celebrating freedom, and sculptures of great figures in history who have made a positive impact on the world. Some of our Year 5 guides told us about the prominent statues there, marking significant events and people in the history of our country.
