The Year 3 girls had a fascinating trip to Butser Ancient Farm in Sussex – a unique experimental archaeological site, nestled into the rolling South Downs National Park. This ancient farm displays Iron Age buildings based on real sites, crops from prehistory and rare breeds of animals.
The girls enjoyed a full programme of special events and workshops – such as making a coracle, learning about Roman cooking and designing mosaics. The girls also tried their hand at an archaeological dig, and found a few roman and celtic remnants deep within the soil It was an interesting and educational excursion, and here are a few comments from the girls about the trip:
