Monday 22nd June ISA Nationals at Birmingham Alexander Stadium
Our girls were extremely excited that they had made it to the Nationals and 11 girls travelled to Birmingham to take part in the ISA National Athletics event after qualifying at the regionals. The stadium was packed with schools from all over the country, and the atmosphere was electric. All our girls did exceptionally well, here are the results:
Year 5:
75m- Linnea Barron- BRONZE
150m- Darcey O’Shea- GOLD NEW RECORD of 21.50 seconds
600m- Katarina Oestmann- BRONZE
High Jump- Darcey O’Shea- GOLD
Relay- Darcey O’Shea, Linnea Barron, Anna Michaels, Louisa Pohlen- GOLD!
Year 6:
80M- Tara Bartlett-GOLD- National Champion for the second year running
High Jump- Sophie Williams- GOLD NEW RECORD 1M 40
600M- Albane Fery, a fantastic run in an extremely tough race!
Relay- Tara Bartlett, Kasia Brown, Amelia Cheeseman, Sophie Williams- SILVER!
What a super result – 8 Gold medals, 4 Silvers, 2 Bronze!
Wednesday 24th June IAPS National Athletics in Birmingham
This was a new event for us and the girls excelled themselves. Here are the results:
U12:
Sophie Williams- High Jump- Gold!
200m- A fantastic run by Amelia Cheeseman in the 200m sprint, a tough race and a fantastic achievement getting through to the Nationals.
4x100m Relay- Tara Bartlett, Linnea Barron, Amelia Cheeseman, Darcey O’Shea- National Champions!!!!! Gold medal with an impressive time of 58.26 seconds!
We are extremely impressed with the girls’ enthusiasm, determination and desire to succeed this Athletics season! All girls from Years 3-6 should be extremely proud of themselves for everything they have achieved and for representing The Study at such a high level. Well done girls!
