Study staff and parents were most appreciative of a mental well-being talk given by Dick Moore last week. The hall was packed with interested adults eager to hear some advice on how best to protect and enhance the mental well-being of our children, especially in an increasingly competitive and results driven society. Mr Moore’s talk reminded us how important it is that children’s self-esteem and confidence are to be protected and that children should not be put under unrealistic pressures. He touched upon how to recognise early signs of the myriad of mental health issues that are facing the youth of today, including depression and anxiety. It was an excellent session, filled with poignancy and hope, and we thank Mr Moore for his time. Further details on his work may be found on www.dickmoore.org
