The Year 3 girls all enjoyed a day off curriculum recently and had lots of creative fun working like real artists in their classrooms. They heard a talk all about the great Pablo Picasso, and learnt about his life and inspirations. They then did a pencil sketch of a still life which had been set up for them in their classrooms, using objects that would have inspired the great master himself, including guitars, bowls of fruit and books. The girls then produced an abstract pastel line drawing of their still life, before adding coloured paper and newsprint to the design to create a wonderful collage, very much in the style of Picasso during his Cubist period.
These fantastic designs were then transferred onto white T-shirts for the girls to take home and keep as a momento of an inspirational and creative day!
