Clara (2011 leaver) has been selected for the Swiss National U17 netball team and competed in the European Championships in Worcester on the 7th-9th March 2014. She competed against England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Here is an excerpt from the news story posted by her current school in Switzerland:
“Clara Pohlen has been a member of the Cadre d’Espoir (Squad of Hope) for Netball Switzerland for the past 2 years making the long squad last year but missing selection for final 12. This year she succeeded.
Despite rupturing the tendon in her right index finger one week before the competition, Clara played the entire tournament with that finger strapped, bruised and I am sure quite sore (although she would never say for fear of being pulled off the court).
Over the 3 days Switzerland played 3 matches against Scotland, Wales and the England Regional Academy (South West).
Clara was in the starting 7 on all 3 matches, an amazing achievement and testament to her netball skills. She played out of her skin at the tournament and although we did not win, it was an amazing experience. She has now been ‘Capped’ for country!”
