Sports Curriculum
Our sports curriculum is designed to maximise participation and inclusivity so all pupils benefit, regardless of their ability or interest. From Reception through to Year 6, children get to experience a broad programme of individual and team-based sporting activities.
Sports taught within our curriculum include athletics, cricket, cross country, football, gymnastics, hockey, netball and tennis. We encourage all our pupils to get involved in sport and they thrive in an environment where effort, improvement and commitment are rewarded.
Sporting opportunities
We encourage the girls to have a go at a variety of other sports through our co-curricular clubs programme. Activities include fencing, netball, dance, athletics and gymnastics club.
In addition, there are opportunities to take part in organised sporting events beyond the curriculum, such as the Surrey Ski Championships and Restless Development Schools Triathlon.
This year, more than 100 Study girls took part in Restless Development’s Schools Triathlon, raising over £11,000 for the fantastic cause by running, swimming and cycling in the event.

Competitive fixtures
We take part in a busy annual programme of matches and tournaments against other independent schools. Different ability teams are formed during training sessions and these teams represent the school at matches.
We are extremely proud of our long history of competitive successes, often at national level, particularly in athletics, cross country and netball.
There are further opportunities for sporting competition in year group matches against other schools and inter-house football and netball matches, as well as our much loved annual Summer term Sports Day.
Beverley Meads Sports Ground
The Study’s sports ground at Beverley Meads is in the south-west corner of Wimbledon Common, about two miles from our main school site.
From Year 1, weekly games lessons are held at the sports ground. We have two netball courts as well as the use of a large area of green space for netball, cricket and football training. Some of our after-school sports clubs also take place at Beverley Meads.
Parents are welcome to spectate at any matches and tournaments hosted here and every so often we organise matches for parents, too!
